Last semester I took a Woodblock class. I wanted to learn more about block printing and focus on creating singular images rather than repeats. This assignment was to create a story using at least three blocks. I ended up creating a story that referenced my material, as I often do. In this case, it just so happened to be wood. It's a bit more raunchy than my usual work, but I was able to have a lot of fun with this class. With that said, please enjoy my wood.

This is the second batch of prints that I'm uploading. The assignment was to create an ethnic fashion collection. Researching Nigerian textiles and Google searching my way through photos, I fell in love with head scarves, masks, and elaborate hairstyles. I decided to center the collection around head scarves, creating sculptures with the implied fabric. All work is hand drawn and manipulated digitally.

I also wanted to create a more commercial look that would use similar prints. I focused more on the use of sheer garments to highlight a subtle overload of pattern over pattern.

Beginning a new blog for a new year. I'm halfway through my senior year at Moore College of Art and I'm beginning to collect and reorganize work from past semesters. As I begin to create a website, I am hoping that this will serve as a progressive portfolio.

With that said, I am going to begin by posting my most recent repeat designs. Everything you'll see is hand-painted and repeated digitally. The first batch is a floral design for interiors inspired by my Honey Island Swamp tour while in New Orleans this past summer. The first three images are the main collection and the following images serve as color options. Enjoy!
